It includes a number of new entries since last year and gives the travel trade and tour planners information on a wide range of ECO Certified products.

These tours, accommodation and attractions guarantee visitors a genuine ecotourism experience that has been audited under Ecotourism Australia’s world-leading ECO Certification program.

The definition of ecotourism adopted by Ecotourism Australia is:

"Ecotourism is ecologically sustainable tourism with a primary focus on experiencing natural areas that fosters environmental and cultural understanding, appreciation and conservation".

Ecotourism Australia believes that the ultimate definition of ecotourism is compliance with the core criteria stated within the Eco Certification Program.

Tourism operators in Australia who have their tour, attraction or accommodation accredited under the Eco Certification Program can geniunely claim to provide authentic ecotourism product.
