Biography:
Jane Lomax-Smith is Minister for Tourism, Minister for Science and Information Economy and Minister for Employment, Training and Further Education in South Australia.

She has served in local government for more than 10 years, having been elected an Adelaide City Councillor in 1991 and Lord Mayor of Adelaide 1997-2000.

Elected as the Member for Adelaide in the South Australian Parliament on 9 February 2002, Dr Lomax-Smith became a Minister in March 2002.

Dr Lomax-Smith is a pathologist and was a medical researcher and teacher in London, Boston and Adelaide before founding her own pathology practice in South Australia.

Born in the East End of London, Dr Lomax-Smith is a strong advocate for social justice and sustainable development.
