Andrew has had a long association with sustainable tourism, having been a Director of Turtle Island, Fiji for over 20 years until December 2006. He played a significant role in elevating Turtle Island to achieve international recognition for its commitment to destination stewardship and community capacity building.
He is Chairman of the Alpine Resorts Co-Ordinating Council in Victoria, which Council has responsibility for overseeing Victoria’s five Alpine Resorts. He is also a Director of the International Eco Tourism Society and Chairman of the Finance Committee.
In 2007, he was appointed by the Victorian Government to Chair the Zoological Parks & Gardens Board, which is Victoria’s largest tourism attraction.
Andrew continues to practice as a Specialist Equity and Commercial Lawyer in Melbourne as a Consultant to Holding Redlich, Solicitors.
He has a philanthropic commitment in his capacity as Chair of the Sir Andrew Fairley Foundation, focusing on supporting leadership, disadvantaged young people and indigenous programs in the Goulburn Valley of Victoria.
