Jude Franks
Jude Franks

Jude Franks  has had over 25 years experience working in the Tourism Industry at senior executive level in Tasmania and has significant experience in all areas of tourism management, marketing, development and experiences.

Jude has been highly successful both as a consultant and member of executive teams with a well demonstrated record of success commercially and strategically and she has a broad and in depth knowledge of the Tourism industry.

She has been involved in many well demonstrated commercial successes both in project development , stakeholder management and in areas of tourism management and marketing. This includes significant experience in dealing with large and small operators, and all levels of government.

For the last 12 months she has been the principal of her tourism, management and marketing consultancy- with a range of projects and clients in the Tourism industry ,the Arts and events sector, heritage and cultural tourism and adventure and experience development.

Prior to this for 5 years she held the position of Group General Manager Sales and Marketing for the Federal Group leading a large team through a market shaping period of acquisitions, strategies and product design and development.

A major focus at that time for the company was in the area of understanding and development of experiential tourism, particularly within Tasmania’s iconic West and East Coast and in the Cradle Mountain Area.

Other senior roles prior included The Hotel Grand Chancellor & Federation Convention Centre and the Innkeepers Corporation.  She has been a project consultant on many other new developments, hotels, attractions, heritage and eco-tourism experiences. She has extensive experience and has led teams in areas such as conference business and experiential tourism, brand development and management, research and project management, revenue management, public relations and e-commerce.

She has also held positions on Boards and committees in regional tourism and was until recently Deputy Chairman of the Tasmanian Convention Bureau.

For the past 12 months she has been a Director of Ecotourism Australia and a member of the Membership and Marketing Committee and would welcome the opportunity to continue as a Director at this time of substantial change in the organisation.

She is a proud Tasmanian who is passionate about the Tourism industry in Australia and “making a difference”.
