Vivienne is the Senior Officer with the Victorian Department
of Sustainability and Environment, where she has responsibility
for tourism policy, planning and projects related to national
parks, forests, reserves, coasts and other areas of public land.
She has more than 15 years experience in the nature tourism industry
having worked in both Victoria and New South Wales in rural, regional
and metropolitan locations. During this time she has developed
a thorough understanding of the needs of both operators and land
managers through a wide variety of projects including tour operator
licensing reform in both States.
Vivienne has worked on broad policy and planning projects like
Victoria's Tourism Industry Strategic Plan with Tourism Victoria,
infrastructure development guidelines and projects with Parks
Victoria and DSE, and much more hands on projects like an operator
and community capacity building initiative in the Otways area
of south west Victoria and developing a new management regime
for dolphin tour operators on Port Phillip Bay. She is currently
heavily involved in the development of a new Nature Based Tourism
Strategy for Victoria.
Vivienne has a strong commitment to improving both the business
viability and environmental sustainability of the eco and nature
tourism sectors. She is also committed to consultation and communication
and to enhancing the relevance and profile of Ecotourism Australia
amongst the Victorian industry.
