Lisha Mulqueeny has over 15 years experience in and commitment to ecotourism, best practice and sustainable tourism.
Lisha has been an active Ecotourism Australia Board member for two terms, and has contributed to improved member and operator conditions in both this and her professional capacity. Lisha was the Director of Tourism & Recreation at the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority for close to seven years and was responsible for partnering with the Great Barrier Reef tourism industry in a submission which saw the Great Barrier Reef receive the World Tourism & Travel Council's sustainable Destination Award.
In 2010, Lisha helped establish the first ever dedicated tourism division within the Northern Territory Parks & Wildlife Service as the Director of Tourism & Visitor Services.
Prior to that Lisha's professional experience included senior roles in some of Australia's leading tourism organisations, such as involvement at the Executive level as a General Manager of TTF Australia, responsibility for international development at the Northern Territory Tourist Commission and her work on sustainable tourism development, particularly in regional areas at Tourism Queensland.
During her work at the NTTC, Lisha worked closely with tourism operators and government agencies to improve tourism standards in the world heritage areas of Kakadu and Uluru.
Lisha is currently responsible for revenue generation, visitor experiences and marketing at one of Sydney's leading tourism attractions as Head of Commercial Services at the Australian National Maritime Museum.
Lisha holds an MBA (Exec) from the Australian Graduate School of Management, a degree in Law and is a solicitor of the Supreme Court of NSW.
She is passionate about the environment.
