Global warming: Implications for ecotourism nationally and globally

The climate is changing and will continue to do so through this century. This has enormous potential consequences for our natural environment, ecosystems, water and snow resources, coastal structures and individual species.

There are potential impacts for those who wish to experience our natural heritage or to build businesses that offer those experiences. There is much we know about the science of climate change and much we still have to learn.

We can manage the inherent uncertainties and build resilience through risk assessment. Such assessments should include the fact that in coming decades global warming will drive a revolutionary change in the way energy is obtained and used which in turn will impact on all businesses where energy use is a component.
