Lizzie graduated from Melbourne University in 2001 with
a BSc majoring in Zoology. A shared interest in wildlife
biology, ecology and conservation led to Lizzie and her
partner Shayne Neal (BSc Natural Resource Management) creating
the award-winning Cape Otway Centre for Conservation Ecology.
Offering wonderful accommodation, superb food and exquisite
surroundings, the Centre is the only truly sustainable ecotourism
business incorporating research, education and wildlife
care components.
Awarded Advanced EcoCertification, and Benchmarked by Green
Globe 21, the Centre is also Winner of the 2004 Victorian
Tourism Award (New Tourism Development).
Lizzie is the 2005 Prime Minister's Environmentalist of
the Year, the first female and youngest ever recipient of
this prestigious award.
