Lizzie Corke
Cape Otway Centre for Conservation and Ecology

Lizzie graduated from Melbourne University in 2001 with a BSc majoring in Zoology. A shared interest in wildlife biology, ecology and conservation led to Lizzie and her partner Shayne Neal (BSc Natural Resource Management) creating the award-winning Cape Otway Centre for Conservation Ecology.

Offering wonderful accommodation, superb food and exquisite surroundings, the Centre is the only truly sustainable ecotourism business incorporating research, education and wildlife care components.

Awarded Advanced EcoCertification, and Benchmarked by Green Globe 21, the Centre is also Winner of the 2004 Victorian Tourism Award (New Tourism Development).

Lizzie is the 2005 Prime Minister's Environmentalist of the Year, the first female and youngest ever recipient of this prestigious award.

The Cape Otway Centre for Conservation Ecology: It's the little things that count.

Showcasing all that is environmentally sustainable, the multi award winning Cape Otway Centre for Conservation Ecology welcomes nature lovers from around the world.

"We welcome guests into our lives and share with them the magic that is nature - a rare sighting of an endangered bird or an unusual flower; an examination of animal tracks on a nature walk; an outing into the night to watch the yellow bellied gliders feeding; then a return to a warm fire, a mug of cocoa and a comfy bed… these are the experiences that our guests treasure and remember."

Integrating beautifully with nature The Cape Otway Centre for Conservation Ecology demonstrates it is possible to design, build, live and operate sustainably. Accompanied by qualified biologists our guests are introduced to the wonder of our fascinating natural world where they see and experience unique indigenous wildlife, safe in the knowledge they are doing no harm.
