Wendy has been employed in the tourism industry for the past twenty years.

Her tourism career commenced with Contiki Holidays where she held several positions in the UK, Europe, New Zealand and Australia, providing a fairly solid 'grounding' into the tourism industry.

She then spent seven years in the employment of the Northern Territory Tourist Commission, residing in both Alice Springs and Darwin.

Commencing at the beginning of 2000, Wendy spent five years working for Tourism New South Wales in four senior roles, mostly involved in the development and marketing of regional New South Wales' product and destinations.

She joined Tourism Australia in February of 2005, as the Manager for the Australian Experiences Unit, which plays a key role in assisting the tourism industry present a more compelling and 'must see' Australian holiday through the many, diverse and quality unique experiences that this wonderful global destination offers to all its visitors.

Wendy Hills will illustrate why World Heritage Sites are a key component of Brand Australia. Her presentation will analyse what are the key experiences that motivate visitors to move from preference to intention to holiday in Australia, and provide the rationale for selecting these experiences.

The presentation will emphasise the importance of branding Australia by using those experiences that Australia can claim credit for being globally the best.
