We would like to invite you to become a member of Ecotourism Australia. There are fantastic benefits to be gained through becoming a member, but let us give you some background information first.
Ecotourism Australia, is the national body for Australia's ecotourism industry. Ecotourism Australia has a diverse membership that includes key industry sectors such as including ecotourism accommodation, tour and attraction operators; tourism planners; protected area managers; academics and students; tourism, environmental, interpretation and training consultants; local and regional tourism associations and travellers. Ecotourism Australia was formed in 1991 as a non-profit organisation.
The EcoGuide Certification Program provides a credential, endorsing the recipient as a guide who will deliver an authentic, environmentally responsible, and professional ecotourism experience. The 2007 New Generation EcoGuide Program now provides Guides with a cost effective and convenient advantage in being able to attain both EcoGuide and the national Guides of Australia (GOA) accreditation in one application.
The Climate Action Program is dedicated to ranking efforts to reduce carbon emissions. It is designed for all sectors of the tourism industry, regardless of size and level of carbon reduction already undertaken. It includes tourism hotels, attractions, tours, transport, restaurants, travel agents, tourism commissions and industry bodies.
