Coming up soon in October is the 2015 Sustainable Economic Growth for Regional Australia (SEGRA) Conference. The Conference this year will take place at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst, focusing on the theme "Leading and Growing Sustainable Regions".
Ecotourism Australia has successfully completed over 80 audits, of our certified operators, since the launch of our audit partnership with Conservation Volunteers Australia. We’re excited to announce that more certification audits are being scheduled for the final half of the year! It is anticipated that New South Wales, Queensland and Western Australian operators will have their audits completed between September and December 2015.
Not to long ago Tourism and Events Queenland (TEQ) launched their This is Queensland mobile device app, which following on from other States and Park Agencies, has been a great way to engage to community and encourage domestic and international visitors to get out and explore the Sunshine State.
Newly Advanced Ecotourism certified operator, Cobbold Gorge Tours, has recently made the news as two new species of gecko have been discovered in the Cobbold Gorge Nature Refuge. The two new species were discovered in May by scientists from Australian National University (ANU), who work collaboratively with Cobbold Gorge Tours to classify and register fauna in the area.
