Key roles and responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for the implementation and coordination of all school camps at Mt Barney Lodge. You will be guiding on most camps with Innes Larkin as the onsite safety coordinator
  • You will be responsible for the design and coordination of the Guiding and Adventure program at Mt Barney Lodge and will be available for guiding across weekends and school holidays as that is the predominant guiding time.
  • You will be responsible for creating an annual staff professional development program for each fulltime MBL Outdoor leader
  • You will be responsible for the monitoring, safety checking and ordering, and storage of all Adventure Equipment
  • You will report monthly to Owners on Staff PD progress, personal PD progress, month ahead staffing requirements, 3 months ahead adventure program
  • Contribute to the smooth running of the Lodge with other tasks as required

  • Annual wage of $60 - $65 000 depending on skills and experience (March to Oct contract a possibility)

The position works under limited supervision and is responsible for the delivery of the ParkCare Initiative, including the ParkCare Patch, VisitorAssist, WildlifeAssist and RangerAssist volunteer streams. The position supervises a team of staff and works to support PCS District staff and community partners to engage and promote the involvement of community members in reserve management activities.
