Ecotourism Australia regularly offers internships and volunteer placements to interested candidates and students studying in the fields of tourism management, marketing, eco and sustainable tourism, and environmental science. Our internships and volunteer placements are unpaid, located in Brisbane QLD, and typically require a minimum of three days per week for a minimum duration of three months. Cradle Coast Tourism (CCT) is the new regional tourism organisation for the Cradle Coast Region which incorporates Tasmania’s North West, West Coast and King Island. Ecotourism Internship - Govinda Valley Retreat Centre, NSW

We are looking for recent Eco Tourism Graduate or someone passionate about helping to establish an Eco Tourism Accredited property at our Yoga Retreat, South of Sydney.  

We provide onsite accommodation, food, activities such as Yoga, Meditation, Sacred Circles, Vedic Astrology, Ayurveda and Philosophy Workshops, Tours as well as training in Permaculture, Bush Tucker Trails, Conservation and Community Gardens.

Your role will be to assist the Projects & Events Coordinator and other passionate staff who are trained in Eco Tourism, Permaculture, Conservation, Land Management, Yoga and Ayurveda to work towards an Advanced Eco Accreditation. 

Your tasks will be to provide hands-on assistance with all facets of the Eco Tourism project, including business systems and development, marketing, gardening, composting, worm farming, recycling and a carbon reduction project.

A high standard of professionalism and ethical behaviour and a commitment to the organisation's values will be required.

Danie Boshoff

Experienced Ecotourism / Environmental Management Professional Seeking New Opportunities

Daniel (Danie) Boshoff holds a Bachelor degree in Ecotourism Management and a Master of Science degree in Environmental Management. He has 14 years' experience in eco and mass tourism and currently heads up the sustainability department at the well known Sun City Resort in South Africa which is ISO14001: 2015 certified. 

Background: Danie worked in the conservation industry for 4 years where he held the positions of farm foreman, wildlife rehabilitation centre manager and conservation manager. He changed his career path to environmental management in 2009 and started working at Sun City as environmental officer. He was promoted two years later to environmental manager and in 2015 took ownership of health and safety as well. He now manages an ISO 14001 certified system and has vast experience in EIA's, resource management, environmental law, fauna and flora management and training and awareness. He is also a waste management and recycling specialist. Along with these experiences, Danie has strong auditing skills, has conducted game drives in Kruger National Park and once raised an orphaned Aardvark.
