Cooinda lodge Kakadu offers 48 air conditioned lodge rooms in a beautiful bush setting with access to everything the traveller to Kakadu could need. Facilities include the Barra Bar and Bistro, Mimi's Restaurant, an internet cafe, a large swimming pool in landscaped gardens, a petrol station, tour desk and general store. A truly great day tour for people who appreciate the outdoors at its best. As the sun rises over Kakadu, go off-road winding through savannah woodland to the edge of the Arnhem Land Escarpment. Bushwalk through the monsoon forest negotiating rocks along the river gorge before standing, encircled by towering 150 metre cliffs, at the shaded pool at the base of Jim Jim Falls. A short 4WD, tranquil cruise with Indigenous Cultural Guide, and walk along a trail carved into the gorge cliff-face transports you to the sandy beach and dual falls of Twin Falls. Tours are subject to road and environmental conditions. Itinerary subject to change.
Cooinda Lodge KakaduĀ also operates Warradjan Cultural Centre which is just 1km from the lodge. Showcasing paintings and crafts by the local indigenous clans, these works have captured the international art world's admiration. You can also discover the culture that spans a millenia. Admission is free.
