Six Ecotourism Australia certified operators were acknowledged for their outstanding quality and dedication to tourism excellence at the Brolga Northern Territory Tourism Awards (Brolga Awards) in Alice Springs last Saturday.
The Brolga Awards are open to tourism operators, industry suppliers and outstanding individuals who prepare a submission in response to a series of questions and criteria that measure business excellence. Winning a Brolga Award is the industry’s highest accolade and the recipients represent the best products and services in the Northern Territory.
“The passion shown by our tourism operators is a wonderful reflection of our incredible attractions, tours, unique experiences and culture in the NT,” said Lauren Moss, Minister for Tourism and Culture, Northern Territory.
“Tourism is a key economic driver for the Territory, providing employment, directly or indirectly, to more than 17,000 people - 12 per cent of the NT’s workforce.”
Ecotourism Australia congratulates all winners in this year’s awards, but especially its certified operators:
- Venture North Australia
- Nitmiluk Tours
- AAT Kings Northern Territory
- Cicada Lodge
- World Expeditions
- Alice Springs Visitor Information Centre
Ecotourism Australia also acknowledges Advanced Ecotourism certified and Respecting Our Culture (ROC) certified Venture North Australia for winning the Cultural Tourism Award for the 8th year in a row, as well as the company’s Head Guide, David McMahon, for being awarded the Skal Darwin Employee Award for his energy, enthusiasm and commitment to being an outstanding ambassador for the Northern Territory.
